Default rock hard tires

I was able to get a set of nice rims for my '29 chassis. However, three of the rims have tires on them that are rock hard. What successful ways have you used to get such tires off of their rims?

Thanks.

yup sawsall does wonders. i bought several AA rims with rock hard tires on them and only way to get them off was to cut. ive had to cut 30+ year old riding mower tires off too.

Chief would lay them on a huge debris pile & burn them off & strip the paint, at the same time.

I had figured to use my sawsall and cut "V's" into the tire. Might have to pry it up a bit to get the bead.

Bill, did Chief find that the metal of the rim had "changed" a bit from the heat?

He probably didn't worry about it, as long as they ran straight & didn't break.

Bring them into a tire shop. A tire changing station should have no problem with them.

One of the keys it to get the tires to break free of the rims. Once you get that accomplished using tire irons to get them off is a little less problematic.
To break really stubborn ones loose from the rims lay one on the ground face up and have some one carefully drive across the tire as close to the rim as possible. Might take a few passes in different spots to get it to break loose.
