Ken, that V8 sign on the 37 was made by a club member (I believe), who brought them along to the Nelson National meet in 2003, and had them for sale. Sold a few too, saw a 35 coupe with them on also.

Fordscript, you get an A+ for taking nice pictures and posting them here. There is nothing like a group shot of very nice early Ford V-8's all lined up as straight as an arrow. Thanks for posting!

Thanks Fordscript. This is a real incentive to get mine on the road. My coupe is at present at the brake specialist have some "ropey" hard lines replaced before it goes for compliance...not long now hopefully. Love the line up of post war "fatties". beaut photos all round

Looked like a great turnout for a V-8 National Meet. Be sure to have someone do an article for the V-8 Times.

Beautiful cars and weather! It is early summer there isn't it? The cars all look so well preserved, can you drive them year round or do you have snow and salt?

We have a temperate climate here. Even at the bottom of the South Island hot rods and classic cars get driven year round. We have car events right through the year.

I like how they tried to line the cars up according to year. Looks as if you went back in time and looking at a dealers lot.

Great photos and a great event. There were about 60 V8s '32 to'54 NZ ranging from average drivers like our 38 standard 4 door to immaculate restorations. On all of the 5 days there was plenty happening in the way of visits to places of interest, museums etc. and lots of NZ scenery. As well of course plenty of socialising.Although we didn't come from far away we still did 800 miles.Plenty of flathead rumble where ever we were. The event was a credit to the organising team who left no stone unturned to make it the success it was.
I have been asked to write a review of the event for NZ mag which may find it's way to the Times.
Cheers, Geoff.

I appreciate the fact that those V8s were either kept original or restored to appear original without lots of bling-bling added. Cheers!!

Thanks for sharing the very neat pictures of Ford's finest! Your 37 is outstanding ! That was my first flathead when I was 17 . Was a running ,driving 37 coupe with almost no rust for $30.00 from a friend of a friend. Always regretted selling it. Enjoy yours, it's a keeper !

There were a few imported left hand drive cars there... a 36 cabriolet, a 53 victoria, a 49 coupe, and a 53? F100, that I saw. I think all the rest were likely to have been New Zealand new, 0f Canadian origin.
