Gas tank dates
Did Briggs date stamp their tanks? If so, where would it be on a '31 2W Fordor Sedan? I had my tank sandblasted and couldn't find a date. I've seen mention of tank dates here on the forum.

Re: Gas tank dates
The tanks were stamped by Ford, presumably after tank construction and/or testing. They were used in Briggs bodied cars but I do not believe any were stamped in 1931.
They are typically on the upper driver's side. |

Re: Gas tank dates
Thanks Rich. I guess my '31 wasn't date stamped. HF must have eliminated that worker.

Re: Gas tank dates
I think the last stamps were in the August/September range of 1929.
