Default Ignition

Chev distributer using 70s Chrysler pickup coil and reluctor. Heat sink brain/coil mount repurposed from late 1990s GM pickup modified to fit stock coil mount on head. Coil is from same truck (GM “E-coil”)

Brain is from mid 70s Corvette. I chose the GM brain because of the variable dwell, ease of installation and reliability.

Bubba’s ignition curve (Thankx Bubba you are spot on) recommended 18 degrees at 1800 rpm because of the increase in torque.
TOTALS-- 20* +2* built into balancer @ 2300 (65mph)

I used manifold vacuum for the can (see 2nd attachment for source).
14 degrees @ 15” because the manifold vacuum at cruise (65-70 mph) was around 15”.

The cooling stoplight to stoplight is phenomenal although the pumps seem to like being spun above 1200rpm.

The Edmonds intake is a true dual plane. I tried using the existing port (on the side) as the vacuum source but could not get a consistent idle. The block is made from ¾” aluminum with 2 ports. Both ports “split” the bores under each butterfly providing sourcing from each side of the motor. Rear (under secondaries) is for PCV and front (under primaries) is for vacuum advance.

I have to smile when someone hits it out of the park!!!!
The Delco ( only available used ) module is used the HEI is the very very best money can buy for a control module. I have a bag of used modules . The new modules are all off shore models of the hei missing circuits , may run just fine but dont have the bang the "orginal modules have !!!!
The chrysler reluctor and pickup ups are the very best as well .
Good job !!!
The part number for the truck heat sink is 10474610 and are on ebay most of the time ..

Ilike to see 26/28 degrees at cruise, and have the AF at 15.5. That;s why the GM distributor is the best one for the old flatty. Kinda gives you an "engine management " system.
