'51-'53 F-1 Deluxe Option
I am considering purchasing a '51-'53 F-1 and would like to know what interior and exterior features were included in the Deluxe model with the Five Star Extra Option. Thanks for any info. Jim

Re: '51-'53 F-1 Deluxe Option
The 5 Star Extra package was 51/52, not 53. Below is the page from the Salesman's Handbook listing the features. Of note, NOT included in the package were radio, Magic Air heater, or electric wipers. They were separate options. Stu

Re: '51-'53 F-1 Deluxe Option
Just to add the Stu's answer, the 53 was a newly designed truck, called the F100. The F1 was the first Ford redesigned product after WW2. It was built from 1948-52. The first three years had little design changes, 1951 and 52 had a new front end design.
The 53 had a driverized cab, a man could wear a fedora in the truck with room to spare. I have a 53 F100 and a 49 Panel, and like them both for different reasons. Good luck with your new truck, whatever it is. A Ford is the appropriate choice! Jef f

Re: '51-'53 F-1 Deluxe Option
Thanks Jeff. Since the first postings Jim and I have swapped PMs, and I've gotten additional info from my friend Kevin who is good with the 53-56s. In my PM I shared with Jim this page from my 1954 Salesman' Handbook. I like the label "Driverized Deluxe Cab".
Then I emailed Kevin and got this reply: Stu, The 53-54 deluxe cabs were called 5 star or Deluxe cab, but the 55-56 were called "custom Cab" and that's when the door name plate started. The options were basically the same for the 53-56 years except the 56 as it added 56 only items like windshield trim and chrome grill dual sun visors, door panels, bright trim, both door locks etc.

Re: '51-'53 F-1 Deluxe Option
Thanks for the Information. Love to hear more about these old workhorses! My truck has teeth in the grill which I believe is a Deluxe Cab. It has two door locks, sun visors.
