Default 1934 Ford Stuck Clutch or what?? Solution?

My '34 Ford has been sitting since May and today when I started it I couldn't get it to go into any gear. Just grinding!!! It was like I wasn't stepping on the clutch.

I searched the forum and found a number of discussions about stuck clutches. I'm thinking that's my problem but I don't have a clue as to how to get it unstuck. If I roll it out of the garage and can't get it unstuck, it will be a job to get it back in.

Any way to tell if it is a stuck clutch? Any easy solutions assuming that it is? Could it be something else?

Help!!

Tom

P.S. I think my car likes New England winters better than Florida summers. Never had this problem when we were up north.

Try putting the car on GOOD jack stands, rear wheels off the ground, starting it up in 2nd or high gear, speed it up a little then push in BOTH the clutch and brake at the same time, including the handbrake. Sounds like a stuck clutch to me. It sticks to the flywheel, especially if it is damp where it was stored.
If it doesn't run, pull the engine and take the clutch out, probably needs to be replaced anyway. Oh, I see it runs, you at least can try what is described above.

Start it in gear and drive on and off the throttle until it (hopefully) busts free. Obviously use your judgement and only try this if safe to do so.

Thank you for the replies. I tried Deuce Roadster's method and it worked on the first try.

Thanks, Deuce and everyone. This forum is such a great resource.
