'34 Ford Starter Removal
This is probably a basic question for you all but not for me. I have to remove the starter from my '34 Ford. I did it many years ago but of course with CRS I don't remember how to do it. Is it just the two bolts that I see on the face of the starter? Does the starter just come straight out once I remove them? Do I have to disconnect the battery? I do have a kill switch.
Thanks. Tom |

Re: '34 Ford Starter Removal
First I would disconnect the battery just to be sure. Secondly, need to check and see if there is a third bolt/strap on the end of the starter that connects it to the oil pan area (this is a support strap). The two through bolts are what connects the starter to the bellhouseing. When you that these bolts loose remember they are also all that is holding the starter together and it will come apart on you, so be carful to keep it all together.

It does not come straight out, you will have to angle its bendix around the flywheel a little bit!

Re: '34 Ford Starter Removal
If your car has its original engine splash pans, you may have to remove the right side pan to gain enough room to pull the starter forward, up, and out.
