48 Merc steering drag link
I got a 48 Merc convertible and while working under the car I found this problem. The drag link rubs on the wish bone at the passenger side front wheel. I purchased a new link thinking maybe it was bent, but not the problem. Does anybody have any ideas? I don't see anything loose or worn in the front end.

Re: 48 Merc steering drag link
Just a shot in the dark but is it possible the front spring is a little weak. The wish bone is hooked in rear to frame. I know on my 48 Ford when I pulled the motor out there was more space between the wish bone & drag link. You could jack the center of the front spring a little to see if that would give you clearance .
