Default 1935 ford radiator removal tips.

Any tip on removing the radiator from a 1935 Ford V8. Would be appreciated.

Simply remove the hood and grille. The inner grille panel will come out with the grille. Take loose the rods going to the firewall and radiator and the bolts that hold the radiator to the frame. Also check for any wires that cross over from the headlight and horn harness as they may be attached to the bottom of the radiator. Remove the hoses and the radiator should come out. You can also put a pad between the radiator and the fan to protect the core in the event if falls backward in removing it. I'm sure others will add comments if I left anything out.

suggest removing your generator & cutting a piece of cardboard to protect your radiator.
Nice car? Protect your paint & tape the two mounting ears to reduce paint marring.
The lower hoses are difficult at best if they are old and dry....I have opted to cut them off & replace with new hoses. If that’s not an option after loosening them collapse downward in the middle as you pull the engine side out. May be easier to loosen before you unbolt the radiator but remove them after it is loose.

You can also leave the Grill in position ,pull the pumps and Generator then fit a 2' piece or so of rubber heater hose over the generator stud ,sling it at the top around the tank ,lean the radiator back. Disconnect the other bits as TJ , & CA say then with a engine hoist lift it . ( MDF or ply wood also is good protector )
