Re: 1932 Model A on Barrett Jackson
Even when I was into street rods, that wouldn't do much for me.
It looks like it was done right though, for a Ford rod with a Chevy engine. |

Re: 1932 Model A on Barrett Jackson
To a Rodder an A is just a platform to build on. If the build is done right the value at a sale like B-J will be more than most Model As will ever bring. I have 4 As and Rodders are always asking if I want to sell them, often saying I can keep the engine and drive train.
No thanks is my answer even with offers greater than they will sell for stock. My son and grand kids would most likely disown me if I did. |

Re: 1932 Model A on Barrett Jackson
32 ford's are very desirable my friend just transported a 3 window coupe barn find that sold for 45k a couple of weeks ago. This 32 is easily with the money it sold for since it is period correct speed parts and paint.

Re: 1932 Model A on Barrett Jackson
Agreed as you are speaking of a 32 3 window coupe.... a different animal indeed. Worth all the money it can muster.I am referencing this hot rod being represented as a 32 Model A in this forum.
I am a stock guy ( obviously), and well aware of the hot rod market and world..... but I fail to see the unit pictured here being labeled a 32 Model A - that is my reference. I would love to have a stock 32, happily take the barn find you delivered off your hands. 😊 1932s as I recall they were model 18s with the V8 or a Model B with a four cylinder. As I said .... perhaps I am out of it but this is not a 32 Model A.... thus my referencing my beloved Pinto comparison. This is a hot rod 1932 Sport Coupe ...... not a Model A .. correct? BJ has to put the A in the description of the car not because they don't know the difference but somewhere down the line some clerk in some county office put it on the title, and they have to legally to cover their butts. I have seen this before with cars that are not as easily to differentiate between the years. I know of model A's that were made in 1932, but they are alway referenced as a 1931. In my 60 plus years I have owned on model a that I know for a fact was a february wide bed pickup with a steel top and the title which goes back to the original bill of sale, it was titled as a 31 this was in SD. As I said before this car was titled as a model at some point and they have to represent the car as that or they could be sued by the new buyer who now thinks he bought a 32 but would think he bought a model a when in fact he didn't in reality. People will sue for the stupidest reasons. Now the colors and the hot rodding that was done to it is a personal taste and we all have our right to opinions. Agreed- We are both in agreement and I have enjoyed the discussion. So someone paid a premium price for a vehicle they wanted and obviously liked the fit and finish color etc. We are all happy in the end.... Thanks... Be well - 🇺🇸✔️ |
