A nice low mileage original Mercury. Looks like a Rouge car. Donated by long time Early Ford V-8 Club member Bob Malley from New York. There's also a chance to win some cash. 10,000 tickets will be sold.

There is no limit on the number of tickets to be sold. We hope to sell 10,000 before October 6th when we draw the winner.

That is one mighty fine 1939 Mercury Town Sedan that Bob has generously donated to the Foundation Museum.

Having the option to buy tickets online via PayPal would be a boon to selling the tickets to win this car.
The Foundation should consider this....

It is illegal to sell games of chance via the internet! You can however call 260-927-8022 and get as many tickets as you would like in less than a minute.

Cecil, just put my name on 1 of those 10. I'm running low on cash after making two major purchases .

Cecil, if my wife gives me an advance on my monthly allowance, I'll buy another ticket Sunday, or at Chantilly, even though I think I already bought the winning ticket last night .

Yep, that's the Collings B-24. I have heard it is the only one in flying condition but can't verify that. It was an interesting flight. I would recommend it to anyone.

Technically, Collings' airplane is the ONLY B-24 flying. For eons now, The Commemorative Air Force has been flying Diamond Lil'. It's a dead ringer for a B-24, but technically an LB-30, by the same manufacturer, Consolidated. The LB-30s were VERY early variants built for overseas sale. These two kissin' cousins are the ONLY two airworthy versions of this aircraft type. DD

CAF's LB-30 below!

I think the amazing thing is that there were over 18,000 of them built during the war and I guess that's all that is left.

You can get tickets by phone, but you must pay postage if you want your copy of the stub. Just call Josh 260 667 3775

You can buy them in person at the Meet in Chantilly, Va June 8-11 or at the local show at the Farm Heritage Museum on Sunday, 21st in West friendship, Md.

CAF's LB-30 below!

Actually, the CAF Liberator is a B-24A.

That is what they say it is.

caliber machine guns, up to 8,000 pounds bombs.
CAF's Consolidated B-24A Liberator "Ol' 927"

The CAF can call it whatever they wish. As long as they've owned this aircraft, they've "wished" that TECHNICALLY, it was a B-24. Nevertheless, the last few lines (in the link below) explain that although it was built originally for the AAC as a B-24A, when diverted to the Brits it was re-designated as an LB-30B. Somethin' akin to calling a Ford pick-up in Canada a Mercury. Interestingly, how many B-24s did you ever see with a whole bunch of windows down each side of the fuselage? Anyway, It's all good! DD

"The next 20 B-24A aircraft were produced for the Army Air Corps, but were diverted to the British and "RE-DESIGNATED" the LB-30B, also called the Liberator 1.
AM-927 (Army Air Corps serial number 40-2366) is the 18th aircraft of that order of 20."

Thanks for the info. I remember that aircraft when it was down at Harlingen back in the old days.
