Fuel Pump
54 Fuel pump? I cannot find a fuel pump for my 54 Ford. I have ordered several different ones from NAPA, then some from Auto Zone, and each time they are wrong. I am not sure what year the engine is, but I was told it is a 292. The original would have been a 239. I have ordered fuel pumps for 292 and 312, but all have the lever coming almost straight out. Mine has a 45% angle upward and the lever is straight. Mine also has the vacuum booster for the wipers. Help? <table><tr><td><font face="arial"> |

Re: Fuel Pump
If the glass bowl was on the top of your old fuel pump you have a 239, if the bowl is on the bottom of the pump you have 272,292 or 312. <table><tr><td><font face="arial"> |

if yours is an original 239, I believe you can change the timing cover to a 1955 on Y-Block, then you can use the corresponding fuel pump. The '54 is a 1 year only pump that almost no one carries. The only other engine it is interchangeable with is the 54 Merc 256 engine <table><tr><td><font face="arial"> |
