I give you A LOT of credit. I truly admire what you did. A good friend once said, "I didn't buy it to look at it in my living room." What would you include on what I call a list of corrections for if you would do this again. Obviously, turning on the lights in the tunnel would be first on my list. I can understand how something simple can go so wrong. My hat goes off to you. Good job!

I always wanted to get in my roadster and head out and see how far I could make it, but at age 80 I think I should stay closer to home.

On my first such trip in 2014, I carried lots of spares and tools in my chase car (including a spare coil). I was also less constrained on time then and the fact that I rode Amtrak from GA to CT to get to the car. Anything I brought along would either have to have been carried in my luggage or shipped to the seller ahead of time.

A coupe with a rumble seat and carrying a passenger does not leave one with much space for luggage, spares, and tools. I certainly should have had couple of gallon jugs of water with me. If I had decided to carry a shoebox of spares, I'm not sure I would have included a coil and cap and rotor. Not sure what I would have brought along if all I had room for was a box of that size.

Again, this couple is a much better car than the Tudor, and it had been serviced by a very experienced mechanic (the seller) who knew the trip I was going to make and looked the car over very carefully for me before I picked it up.

A novel idea....a friend from Ct & I drove his '29 Cabriolet to Dayton and the following year to Williamsburg.

We left the rumble cushions at home !

A dollar says that after the first year you'll never use those rumble cushions....certainly with oldesters like us. They are a novelty that age quickly.

Enjoy your new toy & Thank You are sharing.

I'm not going to take that bet, because I don't want your money.

I run the crew that opens and closes a 35-acre train museum, where 30-35% of our admissions are children. It's just five miles up the road from my house and I plan to drive it to the museum on a regular basis. I may not have a lot of oldsters in the rumble seat, but I can assure you there will be a lot of kids.

As I read your adventure, I thought it was good you didn't buy an airplane and fly over. Glad you made it home in one piece!
