Default V8 on engine stand

I seem to remember having seen some pictures of a V8 on an engine stand that was attached from the side instead the bell housing mount. I have an adapter to use for a Model A motor, will this work for the V8 as well?

I have no actual experience, but I'd bet that the Model A adapter won't work. Even it it did bolt on, the engine would be at a weird angle.

BTW, If you have a later ('49-'54) engine without the extended bellhousing, you can mount it on a conventional engine stand with no worries.

The one you have will work on a T or A block only, I got one of those. I still have the one for a V8 I got from Stumphys, not sure if they are still in production or available.

Hey Jeepguy ya might want to join the EV8 club and find a local club near you, most guys have the tools your looking for and would gladly let you borrow or even help out.

If your in the greater Portland Maine area for instance....I got that stuff

NO!

A and V8 stand adapters are completely different, just like the engines.
