Distributor bushings

I am rebuilding some distributors from my stash. The replacement bushings from Snyders are half as long as the ones in the distributors now. Is it sufficient to use one bushing or should I press in two on each end to make a proper bushing surface? The top bushing shows very little wear and maybe could be used instead of changing them out. What are your thoughts?

Bert's and Bratton's have the one inch long ones.

If the old bushings have little wear in them as you say, half of that wear will be on the shaft. I assume you will be using a new shaft. Have you tried a new shaft in the old bushes? You might find that is plenty good enough (and better than the half length bushes).

Try to find "oilite" bushings. They are oil impregnated so run and wear excellent. LRF
