Default Install drive shaft with original tranny

Help. How do I replace the torque tube with a conventional drive shaft?

Convert the back of the transmission to open driveline (or change transmission) and
use one of the kits available to convert the rear end to open DL.

A cross spring rear end converted to open DL requires a very stout fabricated wish bone or super stout radius rods mounted to the frame or an additional crossmember
with the anchor points directly under the front U-joint.
The radius rod/wishbone kits available are ok for street use but will not stand a lot of abuse.

Remember that the torque tube is the connection between the rear drive wheels and the frame of the car through the tranny to the engine and then frame. Without the additional parts that Pete speaks of, the rear axle housing would try to twist off the springs.
