We were measuring a buddys original 32 5W door sill scuff plates 26 1/2 “ . didn’t measure his 32 delivery but he said the 5W ones were too short . Yet most dealers list 5W and Tudor as the same? He had a spare 5W set ,so we measured our 32 cabriolet and that came out as 27 1/2” . So are tudor ones long enough ?

A '32 Tudor sedan's doors and door openings are much wider than those for sport/standard (5W) coupe and it follows that the sill plates are (much) longer in a Tudor sedan.

The 5W door is most similar to a Fordor sedan - close enough that they can be modified to fit each other. The sedan delivery shares doors with the Tudor sedan

The vendors are likely supplying scuff trim that is long enough to fit a Tudor and must be shortened to fit the 5W.

Odd how dealers list the Tudor and 5W plates with the same part number. I can only presume that some sill scuff plates are Tudor length and must be cut to fit. How do you know exactly which ones you will get. I am not sure where my buddy got his 5W plates from but they are way too short for a delivery and 1” too short for a cabriolet. So I guess the real question is who sells full length S/S tudor scuff plates.

I have been needing a pair of 32 SS tudor sill plates and so far have struck out. Any suggestions?
