Default 37 ford with mallory electronic distributor

i have a 37 ford pickup with the flat head in it. There is a electronic distributor on it. there are 3 wires that come from the distributor. wires are Red, Green and a Brown. I am trying to figure out where the brown wire hooks up to it. looks like it use to hook up the generator or grounded to the block. I just need to hook this up to be able to drive it. Is there anyone who can help me out?

Humm...Well one of the wires will have to go to the positive terminal on the coil the other I would think goes to the negative but the third is puzzeling. Is this a two bolt crab style mallory distributor?

Bubba will come along and let us know for sure.

It may or may not make a difference if you are still pos. ground. But here is a link for a neg. ground system.
The brown wire should be well grounded.

Thanks guys for the help. I was looking it up last night but I was so tired after working on it all day to get it ready to start driving that my eyes hurt by 1am. I was thinking it was a ground but wanted to make sure.

The stock distributor is better than the Mallory, especially when converted to electronic. Neither the Mallory or the MSD have a vacuum component in the advance curve,
