Default 1940 ford 2 door

Attached, if i did it right, is a photo i took from the net showing a 1940 2 door, sedan or coupe? It looks to me that this model has the same nose as the 1940 ford pickup. I'm i correct in that or do my eyes deceive me. thanks scott

That is the 1940 Ford Standard model. Visually they are the same, but there are differences. For example, you cannot swap the hood or fenders between the truck and passenger vehicles.

How about the complete grill. Any match to the truck?

I've heard of people swapping out the entire front cap, with much fiddling!

i see the difference in the hood now. I have all for ford pickup stuff except everything the grill needs to mount. I found a running car and i am looking for the fastest way to get a pickup going. If i could get the car grill to work with the pickup hood and fenders i have id be much on my way.
thanks again

The grille works in the 40-41 pickups. You need the lower chin pan and the upper grille brace which is also part of the hood catch mechanism. Both those parts are available reproduction. The grille bolts to the fenders with an air deflector piece between the fender and grille on each side. Those pieces are also available repo. Not sure where you got that photo of the '40 tudor, but it looks just like the one I bought a month ago.

While not exactly the same, the fenders could probably be made to fit with some minor work. Certainly a lot less work than trying to make the hood fit.
It's just the hood that really needs to be the pickup version. It's a lot deeper.
