Model A door measurements?
I’m looking for a source (internet or book) for definitive information on Model A door measurements. Any help or direction is appreciated.

I have never seen the information you are asking about. You would be better off telling us what you are going to do with it if you find the information. Example might be you want to know what doors will fit a 1930 Coupe?

Re: Model A door measurements?
I know the doors for a Victoria are widest of the Model A doors.

Re: Model A door measurements?
Charlie, I completely understand your line of thought but, I have a 29 Fordor, 28/29 pickup pieces and a 31 Coupe. And, who knows what I’m going to bring home next week. When I’m out picking or at auction/sales I would like to know what doors I’m looking at. With the availability of cars and expertise here at the Ford Barn I’m surprised someone hasn’t put together a interactive spreadsheet that members could add information too.

Re: Model A door measurements?
Nothing? No measurements, no information, no help? I guess if our Model A club every starts meetings/events again I’ll just take a tape measure and start my own spreadsheet. Thanks anyway.

Door handle height 29 roadster 22 1/4" 30-31 roadster 23 7/8 30-31 cabriolet 27 7/8 30-31 coupe 27 3/4 My measurements. A definitive source would help. Did not look in the judging standards yet. Last edited by Brentwood Bob; 07-16-2020 at 12:07 AM. |

Re: Model A door measurements?
Well, I have a '30 AA Stake and a '30 Tudor which measure 29 1/8" JUST above the door handle on the OUTSIDE. The '30 Blindback I have is a BRIGGS body and it only measures 27 5/8". That one I THINK is NOT interchangeable with anything!
Aaron Franck That is the best info I can pass on. Just remember I measured on the OUTSIDE of door. I don't know is any one has said it but WELCOME to the Fordbarn! |

Re: Model A door measurements?
Bob, good info.
I concur 30-31 coupe 27 3/4”, that’s what my 31 coupe measures. 29 ccpu at 29” seems right, that’s approximately what my 29 ccpu door opening measures. Davehc, I’ve been to that site and printed off most of the blueprints, really good information, but they’re missing some info/measurements. Cape Codder, you bring up a good point. Width measurements should be taken at the belt line, just below the window and above the door handle. I’m wondering, should we be including height measurements? Does it add any bearing? Thanks for the measurements, confirmation of numbers will help cement this information. |

1931 68c cabriolet doors are 4" wider than a 31 dlx roadster
