Is John Kohnke still in business? I haven't been able to get in touch.

Disregard this post ... See post #3.

John,

Herm died recently was sudden.

No details apart from Obit ...

There was some talk of his son taking over but I have not seen anything other than what was posted.

OK my bad ... too much coffee and Mountain Dew today

Re-read the original post again. John's question referred to Herm's son, asking if he was going to re-open the business.

John, the rumor I heard "on the street" from someone who supposedly knows/knew them well was that his son was going to finish the projects that Herm had in the shop, then evaluate whether he wanted to continue that business. Evidently the son currently has a fairly lucrative Knife company where he is making quality knives and has more work than he can do.

John
I have been unable to get a good phone number. He rebabbited a hit and miss engine connecting rod for me (shown on his site July 17). I haven't received the rod back and would like to find out it's status. The work has been paid for as well as return shipping.

John

It seems plausible that John does not know who the rod belongs to. Do an internet search for Lizard Creek Knives. That is John Kohnke's business. His phone number is listed on his social media page.

I think the issue is being resolved. Appears that there is a shipping problem. I have located the rod at a post office in John's zip code and don't expect problems getting it on track to John.

This is John Kohnke. I have been working on business aspects literally 24\7 for months since dad passed without any personal time trying to get things in order. I am continuing the babbitt business, and will be posting pics of past and current progress of completed, and current work when I find time to do so. In the meantime, the KohneRebabbittingService.com website has a new number for contacting. TY all for your patience!

Looks to be a typo in website address. left the 'k" off after the "n" in Kohnke...
That being said getting error message when trying to access site.

My previous posts about Kohnke rebabbiting gave some the impression that there was some problems with John's service. There were no problems with his service and an excellent job was done with the rod project. As I said in a previous post there was a shipping problem that was not any fault of John.

John (the happy customer John)

That is good news. Thank you

And of course, sorry about your father. I spoke with him on the phone a couple of times and he was a first-rate fellow very knowledgable. He will be missed, but you will be just as competent!
