Default What else fits the horns???

SO
on my 39 Mercury I kept getting a "rattling" "vibrating" noise from under the front of the car like the engines tins were loose OR the splash shields under the fenders were loose. I had the car up on the lift on a couple of occassions and poked around and could NOT find anything!!! The other day it was real bad and discovered its my "lower" horn that is very loose and rattling around SO am I missing what appears to be maybe some rubber grommets as well as maybe another clamp????

1939/40 horn trumpet grommets are available from several of the reproduction parts sources

I figured they were missing BUT wondered IF there was a second "clamp" OR "IF" maybe mine is too close to the horn end and "needs" to be moved out more to the trumpet end as well????

Thank you!!!

Got the same horns in my car but a previous owner has welded then to the bracket. As said the grommets are easily obtained . I got some for my last v8 but the things still moved around so I got a big cable tie and secured them with that....a tempary fix that ended up being permanent.

I used the large size grommet from the Harbor Freight box, cut it in half and slid it around the horn neck, probably going to be one of those temporarily fixed for ever jobs.

That's a fairly rare and correct horn bracket assembly. You will need four (4) of the grommets.
The bracket towards the front utilizes that wire "clip". Once the grommets are placed, that wire goes around them.

So the wire clip needs to be moved more toward the “TRUMPET” end??
