Default Should I get my air bag inspected?

I noticed that Takata just got fined 1 billion for faulty air bags. I was checking mine and I am worried that it may be faulty, but I am not certain that it is original equipment or not as the car has had a few previous owners before me in the past. I am hoping to be part of the settlement as I did bump my knee against it once and i think it may have done some permanent damage as a result. I am making appointments with a psychiatrist, chiropractor, medical doctor, surgeon, physical therapist, radiologist and legal council who previously worked on the "O.J. Simpson didn't do it, but is still looking for who did" case to cover all the bases.

"The settlement includes a $25 million criminal penalty, while Takata will also pay $850 million in restitution to automakers who purchased its defective airbags. Another $125 million will go towards a compensation fund for those harmed by the malfunctioning bags. On top of the fatalities, at least 184 people were injured in the U.S. alone."

Not to make this political, but does this air bag look original to you and should I pursue my case? My friends claim it is "all in the bag" for me to win, but I'm just not so sure. I don't want to be looked at as a fellow who is a gold digger and just wants to sue for every little thing.

Looking at the general condition of the vehicle as seen in the photo you would probably lose the case due to your failure to have routine maintenance accomplished by the dealer!!

I remember seeing that car around Nashville when I did the Natchez Trace tour some years ago. I found the car parked along some retail area south of town.
A nifty Hillbilly type car.

There is maintenance required on a Model A Ford? Gosh, by the way the previous owner treated mine before I bought it, I never would have remotely even guessed. :-)

File the claim, it appears to have been recycled once or twice!

Yup but don't allow a modern dealer to do it. I bought a Model A out of AZ a while ago and the owner had it serviced at the local Ford dealer before he delivered it. You wouldn't believe what they did/didn't do.

I had a PT Cruiser a few years back and the glove box to it was a classic example of "truth in advertising" in that it really only held one singular glove. :-)

I remember when Tammy Bakker wrecked her car & her HEAVY make up left a perfect pic of her, on the Air Bag!

I only have an air bag on the passenger side. It acts as a naggagator and a second crank. The original owner/manufacture said there were no returns.

I have five air bags on my car. I keep all five of the air bags wrapped around my wheels.

Do your tires still have the original Model A air in them?
