When I worked in the Ford dealership in the 60's, the service manager and the shop foreman wore white shop coats, trimmed in blue, with Ford patches and their name. I have one, and wear it to cruise ins occasionally.

Like Dave there are certain things I do that I don't want to be that dirty for other or normal work nor do I want to change when going in the house for a meal.

I second going to a laundry supply. Most will have a store and they sell off used ones pretty cheap and they are for heavy use.

I thought about getting a duster coat and putting a Ford Logo on it.

I do the same thing. There is a third category though. When they are too bad for work clothes they become shop rags.

I used to wear a shop coat at the dealership, but haven't had one for years. I do wear an apron though for the dirty jobs. In fact I'm going to make a longer apron out of vinyl, so it's easy to wipe clean.
