31 Tudor rear side windows
I purchased a 31 Tudor about a year ago from my uncle. It is a very nice driver, not a show car. All original except for 12 volt starter and lights. My question, the rear side window on one side rolls all the way down, and the other stops 3-4" from the bottom. I took the panel off and could see no reason for the lack of travel. Any ideas?

Re: 31 Tudor rear side windows
I would probably go ahead and take the window regulator out/off and then see if it is binding up at all as you would move it fully up and down out of the car. Then you can also check the up and down of the window with no regulator on to see if you have full travel up and down the window channel. It is either wedging itself in the window track, or something wrong with the regulator.

I'll check that. You think it should go all the way down?

The window should slide all of the way down. There is a rubber bumper attached to structure below the window to limit the travel.

Re: 31 Tudor rear side windows
the widow will only go down so far, there is a stop with a rubber baby buggy bumper to impend the downward movement. Both door windows and the 3/4 panel windows in my SW T Sedan have the same stop. The front doors have the same stop but go all the way down. When I started the redo I wondered the same question.

Re: 31 Tudor rear side windows
I tried to look at the regulator today, but I couldn't get the window crank off. I removed the set screw, wouldn't budge. I had it off last summer when I tried to inspect the situation. I wonder if the crank rotated on the square peg?

Re: 31 Tudor rear side windows
Yeah, it was hard to see. The pin had backed out and was pinned behind the trim ring. I got it out and removed the regulator, but the window has some sort of solid stop even with nothing attached. I think I will just live with it. Thanks for your help.
