I assume that you mean the explosive spark plug whistle.
I used to run one, years ago. I don't remember why I took it off, but I don't remember it giving me any problems.

They only work at low r.p.m.'s. If you try it running 10 miles an hour or more it just sounds like an air leak. That being said, I have one on my Model T, and it is highly entertaining to anybody within earshot. No fouled plug, or any other problem the last 40 years.

I have a spark plug type explosion whistle on my 'A' - if that's the type you're talking about. It's good for "showing off" and especially for parades - kids get a kick out of it along w/ adults because of it's unusual sound. Easy to install and use. I notice the parts catalogs don't carry them anymore - been discontinued. I also have a Model T horn and a cattle caller/bull horn along with the ooogah horn - all good for parades.

They are fun for slow moving parades as the unusual sound draws attention to the source, your car. I used one for years and as I recall the prime source was Lucas Engineering the tire folks.

It seems to me the valve is the hard part to get now. I think you can buy the adapter and maybe the whistle but not the valve. On my Model T at slow speeds is makes a noise like a hen and you can feel the engine kinda burp at higher RPM's man it really barks!
Oh, the one on ebay has the 1/2 inch pipe threads for both the adapter and where the plug fits.

Yes, that's the one I'm referring to. Seen one in a catalog and thought about getting one. I just might now.
