Default Early '30 68-B Cabriolet Briggs tags ???

I'm looking for feedback on the location of original Briggs body tags on early '30 Cabriolets. Most Briggs and Murray bodies had the tag fastened to the wooden floor sills on the passenger side near the floor board and under the carpet in 1929 and at least very early '30. I'm attempting to corroborate what's been stated elsewhere regarding the timing of the transition from the floor to the firewall near the Ford data plate.

Thanks...

Thanks Don,

That's similar to my experience except that most folks date their cars by the engine which pushes the actual date further back a little. Supposedly nobody has reported a 68-B without holes for the plate in the firewall which simply doesn't fit the pattern unless release of the new models was delayed due to inventory of the 68-A.

Anybody? There has to be at least one early '30 Cabriolet among the group here!

Marco; My early 1929 6-25-29 fire wall date..Briggs data plate was on floor just ahead of passenger feet...on cross rail...maybe you can narrow it down if enough people date their cars??? Dick

Marco, My Jan 30, 1930 68-B has holes for the body tag on the firewall below the Ford data tag.

Mine is a Feb '30 motor # so is probably to late to help for the tag location change. Tag # is 61-8770 and located on the firewall
