I shortened mine by 1-1/4" to make sure I still got lock to lock.

And I do not trust that Chinese shit. Had a pickup mirror I tried to bend a bit and it snapped like a piece of twig . I have heard the same of rumble seat brackets. If i die when something breaks, I don't want to it to be lousy Chinese metallurgy. |

I think you could use a left hand drive Ford F1 box tipped upside down for RHD(?). Puts the worm on top like the Model A and gives a splined sector on which can use early V8, F1, Vega etc. (choose your length) pitman arms(?). Many of which, like the 1932 Ford pitman arm has a replaceable ball.
Model A RHD two tooth boxes are almost non existent here. |
