Default ??? New Window Regulator ???

Hi Guys...
I need your 2 cents on New Window Regulators.
My gear shaft is broken at the handle.
Do I just buy a new regulator?
Buy a regulator small gear repair kit?
Buy a new shaft ? (is it the same as stock)
Screw the repop shit and just make a new part my self?
Are all regulators made by the same company?

thanks Bill

Bill , some time a go I installed a repro window regulator Looks the same as original but the materials used are thinner . also the spring was of lesser strenght or force if you will . I put the original spring on the repro and now it's fine .

Just my two cents

Gerard

If you have a 1928-31 Coupe, Tudor or closed cab pickup they use a regulator that mounts with three screws. There are two manufacturers of that regulator and Snyder's is the prime source for the better made one. If your regulator mounts with a 4 screw pattern such as used on a Fordor there is one manufacturer and in this case if you can repair yours then I suggest you do so.

I echo the above exactly. When I bought my PU, it had new regulators made by V....... Didn't work worth a darn. Replaced them with Snyders and they work like a charm.
