OIL pressure sending unit
A friend of mine acquired a French flathead engine and is not sure if it should have a 50 or an 80 lbs unit on it. We are hoping one of you flat head guru's can shed some light as to which one is correct for this motor.
Thank You |

Re: OIL pressure sending unit
Motor don't matter, its the gauge you connect to that dictates 50 or 80..........

Re: OIL pressure sending unit
If it's French, it probably prefers it's pressure measured in kilopascals per centimetre squared? ..B.

Re: OIL pressure sending unit
Most likely some version of the 80 would be right...the 80' have the number stamped on the brass part for identification. Whatever the French engines had originally was likely either a mechanical gauge or some European electric gauge unrelated to Ford usage.

Re: OIL pressure sending unit
you just need to match the sending unit to the gauge. IE 80lb sending 80lb gauge.
