Default 6 Volt LED bulbs

Got the rear of my 40 sedan lit up with 6 volt LED bulbs. Very happy with the results.

I finally got the correct single contact LED tail lights for my 35PU. I'm hoping to get them in tomorrow, Good Lord willing and the creek don't rise. I'll post an update.

WELL, $hit. My LED's finally get here and I get a chance to install 'em and neither one of them work. Socket works fine. Another LED bulb in same socket works just fine.

Agreed! Absolutely! Put one of the old bulbs back in there. We need to see a left-side by right-side comparison. 8^)

And they pull less amps. I’ve changed every bulb in my 40 sedan to LED except the headlights.

Is it just a simple "r and r" to switch from incandescent to LED bulbs in a six volt vehicle like my 52 Merc?

Ralph - when I went to all LED (6V, Pos Ground) on my '53 - because the load was so low, I had weird issues that showed up because there wasn't enough load in the circuit.. apparently this is common in LED conversions -- and so I had to add a load resistor on each side of the turn signal circuit to balance it all out.

Someone said "just put a bulb in the trunk no one can see it" well the resistors do the same thing as the bulb, and they don't light up

FYI i put one load resistor in the engine compartment near the Voltage Regulator and the other in the trunk on the driver side near the tail light.

the other option is only change rears and not fronts... then you don't have this problem!

Thanks for the reply. I figured it might not be just all that simple. At present mine has no signal lights and no functioning park lights but brighter brake and tail lights would be a good thing.
