Yes, compression test was done with all plugs out and full throttle for 8-10 revolutions.
Also forgot to mention, the carb is a newer 2 barrel downdraft setup and the filter is a K&N style. I pulled the oil pan and the valve cover and it is actually really nice and clean inside. No sludge build-up at all in the valve area and a very light film in the bottom of the pan. Pleasantly surprised about that one. |

Just my opinion but I think the timing gear is a notch out.

First, I would suggest you remove the air filter and do not put it back on.
Secondly, run it a while and you may find the compression readings come up. An engine that has sat for a long period of time sometimes loose the seal of the rings. Running the engine with MMO, or oil in the cylinders may help the process along. If the engine ran well when it was parked, chances are it will run fine again. My opinion, Chris W. |
