Default Diamond B i.d.

I know this is unimportant but I'm curious. The engine in my car is a model B. It has the small diamond in the casting but there is no date code. Is this common?

There is a number stamped on a small plate that is date coded. rv in so can't show picture. But in on block looks like plate with two mall screws but is cast into block.

The date code is on the same side as the diamond, behind it 3-4" and has a capital letter followed by 2 numbers. Mine is C 5 7 which means March 5, 1937.

My car has a diamond engine, not sure what that means. Will look for the date code and do some research on Diamond engines.
Thanks guys

I have 2 "Diamond" Model "B" engines and neither of them has a date. I see no significance to the "Diamond" blocks other than the "Diamond" caster's mark is indicative of an aftermarket manufacturer.
