The Smith Motor Compressor Club is dedicated to preservation and education of the Smith Model A compressors We are non profit chartered by MARC and MAFCA. Membership is $10 per year. We publish 4 newsletters per year. The club also maintains a Facebook page.
The Smith head converts a Model A or B engine into an air compressor capable of 60 cfm at 100 psi. From 1932 to 1953 converted Model As, later using their own sheetmetal when Model As ran out. Thousands were made. In 1953 Smith changed to Chrysler 6s, Ford V8s and others. The company continued until 1993 when it was sold by the family.
