Default Taillight grounding

I am going to add a RH taillight to my sedan. Do the mounting bolts ground it, or does that happen somewhere else in the wiring?

Thanks. That’s sorta what I thought, but I needed confirmation. Happy New Year!

As long as they aren't fiberglass fenders.

If it's in doubt as to whether or not I get a good ground, I typically will run a separate ground wire whether it needs it or not.

Wire is cheap. Run a separate ground.

Solder a ground wire to the outside of the socket and run it though the wiring loom and to a good ground. Why didn't Ford run dedicated grounds ? To save a nicklem!

BTW when I mounted the right hand light I measured 6 times and it didn't look right before drilling holes, I then used a straight edge across both faces of each light and then when it looked right I drilled the holes. But I can hang pictures without a level!

Or powder coated stand or to much paint, it would be best to run a ground wire from outside of the light socket through the wiring loom back to the chassis.
