Default Holley 94 on early 35 aluminum manifold

I'm having trouble with my 59 series 94 carb on an early 1935 aluminum manifold. I have rebuilt it, cleaned all the holes, many times. Ordered the correct 7.5 pv that has been machined flat, and 51 jets. All of this is on a rebuilt stock 59ab, .060 over. Someone on the Hamb said the gaskets for a stromberg 97 and a 94 are different because of the power valve. That's why I'm wondering if the base on the manifolds are different. I will be trying to find my 59ab manifold to check. Thanks Ron

Should work fine I would think. The 94's have a chevron base instead of a "D" base .Contact Charlie ny, on here for expert advice

The Holley 94 has a slot machined in the base to allow vacuum to the power valve.
Will work on either manifold.

Thank you both for your reply, so I just need the correct gasket for a 94. Thanks Ron

ron,
Be sure your intake does not have a hole between the 2 front attaching
studs....this intake suitable for Strombergs only. That hole goes into the exhaust crossover passage and supplies heat to the carb...ok for Stromberg but the heat will
ignite the power valve on a 94.
Either gasket OK.

Thank you Charlie, the holes are blocked off at the block. And I did have the 97 base gasket with no hole for vacuum. Now I have the correct gasket for 94 with the hole. I am not sure if I would have figured this out with out my friends on Ford Barn. This is just one of many things I have gotten help with on the Barn. Thanks Ron
