53/56 f-100 transmission
Anyone install A later model 3 or 4 speed in A 53/56 f-100 ? How did you handle the clutch bracket mount? original 53/56 trans had clutch bracket mounted to original trans casting .

Re: 53/56 f-100 transmission
I checked that out ,they don't address the clutch pivot mount , with the stock trans there are two castings were it mounts too. any other transmission will not have these . I know other guys have run into the same issue on 53/56 f-100 ,just trying to get ideas .

Re: 53/56 f-100 transmission
I am working on that issue right now on my 56 F100. Found out you can't do it unless you use a hydraulic clutch or fab a ball and Z bar to the block and frame. Then you also have to use (weld or bolt in) an aftermarket cross member to support the newer transmission under that trans. because the stock bell housing mounts are gone.

Please keep me posted on your progress, An idea would be to utilize the top bolts on the new transmission ,make an right angle plate to go down the side of the trans ,then drill two holes in it at the location of where you can bolt the existing bracket to it .
