Default Model a clock

Saw a thread re a Model A clock that reminded me to ask about mine. It has a Ford script and is set into the mirror - the back of the clock sticks out the back of the mirror. The stem will set the time but doesn't seem to wind the clock. Anybody else got one or seen one like it? Sure would like to know what the deal is with it.

There were several different clocks made for the Model A, some mounted in the mirror as yours and others on the header or hooked to the dash. I don't believe any had the Ford script. There were a number of reproduction clock mirrors made over the years and I think A&L is currently offering one for sale. These were made with an inexpensive wind up clock and it could be that yours needs to be repaired. Many local clock and jewelry repair places can handle the work. It is nice to have a clock in the Model A when you are on a tour so I hope you can get yours working.

Thanks, John.....can you tell me how it comes out of the mirror? It looks like maybe it should unscrew somehow but I'm afraid to twist it very much without knowing.

I have this one mounted in one of those 2-gauge panels that bolts on below the speedometer.

Buying a new A & L would probably be cheaper than repairing the one you have, Bert's also carys them if I remember correctly.

Those are the 3 different kinds Snyder's sells. I have the rear view mirror clock in the Coupe and the shifter knob clock in the leatherback.

Yeah I'm heading to Snyder's next Thursday to buy my new radiator. The wife and I are making a day out of it after we drop our son off for school. Very excited.
