Accelerator Pedal Removal
I want to remove the front floor mat on my 36 does the accelerator rod just push into the back of the pedal, like a snap push in fit, don't want to brake it.

Re: Accelerator Pedal Removal
It will take a little muscle but it will pop out with a good pull. I put just a little grease (Or Vaseline) on the tip of the rod, then wrap a cloth or something around the accelerator rod and snap a small pair of needle nose vice grips to the rod far enough down the jaws so it spans the opening in the floor, then that helps hold the rod steady and from depressing when you press the peddle back on the rod!!!! ALSO the lube helps in pulling the peddle back off IF needed again!!!
Good luck |

Of the rod meets the fitting. That little knob Fitting connects to the rod. All you have to do is push Back the spring loaded connectIon on the rod And that will disconnect it from the fitting. When you need to connect just Again push back the spring loaded end on the rod and push the connection together. |
