Default Model A truck tailgate hinges Macs was no help.

I have ordered a set of these from mac's but they have been giving me the run around. Seriously i don't know how they stay in business. i am currently on hold for the third time. This time it has been a half hour and sending things to their customer service email address just get returned.

This is an automatically generated Delivery Status Notification.

Delivery to the following recipients failed.

[email protected]

I was promised a call back from their customer service rep on the phone but that never happened.

I am waiting on hold to cancel the order. Im done with them. There are so many ways they could have saved this small order but they must just not care.

This all started with their taking my order and not telling me they weren't in stock. I waited about 2 weeks called them asking if they were lost and they told me they were waiting for a supplier to ship them. Seriously? With todays technology why did I not get a notice of backorder. I would have started making a bracket right then. Now I have to make one and have it painted. It wont match and with the weird angle might rattle. Grrrrrrrrrrrr.

Anyhow I will never be held hostage by them again. They dont deserve my money. I will make a bracket of some sort to get by but want to have a real set. Is there another supplier of these or do I just have to go with jury rigged brackets. I will not give Mac's my money. its the principle. They dont deserve it.

Ivan

If you are talking Pickup tailgate hinges, I bought a pair from Snyder's. It's been a while, but they came thru with no problems at all. I've seen them in other catalogs as well.

Everybody runs out of things occasionally, but they should at least let you know they are backordered.

Snyder's does not list the bracket. They just list the part that attaches to the bed.

There are a lot of suppliers listed on the sticky at the top of this page.

Some of the ones I use are:
Bert's
Snyder's
Mike's
Sacramento Vintage
Bratton's

But there are quite a few more.

You may have to call and talk to a live person to describe the exact part you are looking for. I'd start with Bert's, talk to Steve Becker.

There you go! Problem solved. You started complaining at 5:57 and it was solved by 8:13. (Just kidding ) In all seriousness, this is an excellent website to come to when you have a problem. It is also a good place to let others know about vendors. Good luck!

If you click on the link it is not the part he needs, He needs the upper hinge.

I just noticed that upper hinge has two different types...at first I thought it might be for a T bed, but here are some pics of other 28-30 pickups...
last pic is my tailgate.

Anyone know about the difference in hinge design?

I see mine has a type "2" hinge....

But even more interesting is the tie-down hook in the center....it seems it was a popular option!
