Color of Paint on Windshield & Stanchions

I have a Mid Jan.1928 Phaeton & I find in the J/S two different statements on when & what the color should be ??.. On Page 14-11 in the revised 2011 section, it states under windshield frame colors "Black Enamel" Thru Dec.1927.. On Page A-9 in the 1928 Section it reads they were painted Black on open cars until about Feb.1928.. So using the first one, I "could" paint them body color ??
