The 1928-1931 150-A,B Station Wagon
Ford documents tell us that the 150-A,B Station Wagon was of two types of designations...The 1927-1931 Ford Assembly Record Types has the "Station Wagon" listed within the Commercial Vehicle columns and within the July 1, 1931 Parts Price List Ford has it listed as one of the many Passenger Vehicles.
So which was it? A Commercial Vehicle or Passenger Vehicle? I understand that it could be either/or also. However since my project (book) is about the Yearly Assembly Record Types, I have chosen the Station Wagon as a Commercial Vehicle. Thanks. Pluck |

Here is a Ford showroom photo of commercial vehicles, and the station wagon is among them.

Did the Station Wagon get it's name because it was used as a wagon for transporting passengers at train stations?

I've always considered my 12/10/28 wagon a passenger vehicle, but it does have removable rear seats so it can carry cargo.

Maybe this falls into the realm of phaeton or touring car? |

I heard folks including my wife at times call our 150B a truck.

The FORD recommended tire size should give a pretty good idea of what this 'hybrid' was 'classed' as - Passenger or Light Commercial.

Re: The 1928-1931 150-A,B Station Wagon
My uncle bought a new 56 ford station wagon so he could haul his strawberries to the farm market auction each morning, and not have them bounce around in the truck, which settled the berries in the box. When I was a boy scout, one of our scout's family had a station wagon to haul all the kids they had, since their religion did not allow for birth control devises.
