Well, I applied the Flex Seal last night and am very pleased with the results. I masked the area off well and covered the rest of the car with bed sheets. Two cans did it, although only one coat. But as a temporary fix, that's just fine.

John, we normally take my green '26 T Touring to Mystic. She's down with an engine issue for now, so I'll be driving my brown '29 Fordor... The one with the nice "new roof". We're hauling two cars up there tomorrow morning from South Jersey. See you up there. Dave and Cathy Young

A fellow told me once that he sealed his top with Rustoleum paint. I don't know if he was pulling my leg or not.

It has been my experience that dogs have family, cats have staff.

There was a lady on FB a while (year?) back who was doing all the work on her car and seeking advice here. I recall being impressed at what she was tackling! Can't remember her name but I recall she was brushing something on her roof for a weather seal. If she reads this, or if anyone can remember her name, it would be good to know what she used and how it's held up.
That's a long shot - sorry!

Good news, the cat was on the back porch this morning, waiting for a rub and some food. The woman is very happy.

They probably don't even sell evaportive coolers in CT, and the season is wrong, they are disappearing from the stores here until next spring...

But, they sell cheap cans of asphalt spray to stop leaks in the bottom of the coolers. Ace Hardware, Blowes, or Home Defect should have some.

I'd guess it's the same as the stuff sold on TV, only a LOT cheaper. If they have Wallgreens Drug stores there, look for the "as sold on TV" isle.

I painted my top with Latex semi gloss and it sealed it up. Don't know how long it will last but seems to be holding up a year latter.
