Default Windshield Frame Press-In Nut

Do any of you have any experience with installing a "windshield frame press-in nut" (Bratton's part #30100)? I've got a 30 Std Cpe with a recently painted frame and it is in excellent condition with the exception one of the press-in nuts is missing in one of the brackets. The bracket is also in excellent condition, just needs the nut installed. The knurled side of the nut is much too large to fit the bracket's existing opening and I could grind it down and use JB to help hold it or enlarge the hold in the bracket. Could also buy a new bracket (#30092) with the nut installed, but as I said, the frame has recently been painted. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
