Default Neat Photo You Might Like

Found this period photo elsewhere online. Maybe you all have seen it before! I know I haven't.

One of the main focus points cars is a 1931 A 160-C.

Sorry for the large image, didn't want to lose any quality. It's a detailed photo.

That looks like the old "Cliff House" in the background (San Francisco)
If so I've been on that road many, many times.
Thank you for sharing

That is a neat photo. I'm not much for sedans but I do like the blind-back slant.

Looks like a 30 or 31 roadster with a odd spare tire cover on the rear in front of the 32, interesting is that it has two tail lights.

Thanks for sharing... On the extreme right of photo seems to be one of the rare early sedans with a cowl vent on the drivers side.

The best cars in the photo, the '32 tudor and the two '34 Fords. One is a coupe and the other a sedan.

There's no doubt that's the place. Heard a couple of years ago that it was going to close - anybody know?

The Cliff House restaurant has been closed for a few years now, but there are plans in the works to reopen next year. The big question mark is the name. The property is owned by the government, and was leased to operators. The last business owners trademarked the name and are now holding it ransom for a huge sum. Perhaps a deal will be negotiated, but if not it will reopen under a new name.

Anyone know what they are looking at? Very nice picture with several fairly rare cars.

Full bumper with dual tail lights and a trailer hitch on a roadster.
Spare behind a rear luggage rack on the slant window. That would have been
During the depression.

The same thing happened at Yosemite - We've paid big money because the lawyers weren't smart enough to protect the taxpayers with a simple clause.

Here's a kinda-sorta Google street view of the same area. Seems like a nice place to park and stroll the beach. Looks like the road has been re-routed, and the businesses on the right side are all gone...

Hiway 1 was rerouted a bit to the east through two tunnels thru the mountains. The original route "Devil's Slide" is accessible by parking & walking along the roadway.

Can anyone tell what make of roadster is directly behind the Cadillac? From this angle, it looks tiny...

This photograph brought back memories of my father and his take on life. He grew up in an orphanage with his four siblings during the depression as his widowed mother couldn't afford to feed her children.

During the sixties, when people talked about the thirties as the good old days, Dad's response was "These are the good old days!" referring to a time when he finally was able to feed his family and put gas in his Model A Ford.

A great old photo for sure. As a midwestener, I have to say, now I understand the issue with California land slides.
