Default where to buy a quality 10" clutch?

Has anyone bought a good quality 10" pressure plate and clutch disc? The one I pulled out of my truck is cheap, worn out and foreign made. I don't have a core so send to the rebuilder.

I've had the best luck here. Top quality and great service.

I have sending my customers to Fort Wayne Clutch but have been exploring pressure plates from McCloud. They are more money but high quality.

I'm curious all those recommending Fort Wayne have bought from them recently. I don't know and I'm only going off of internet chatter, but I understand they mainly sell off shore made products and not US made stuff at this time.

I truly hope I'm wrong, but can anyone confirm this?

I had stopped buying from Ft. Wayne about three, maybe four years ago. I was a faithful customer for decades up until the point that the stuff they were shipping was obviously crap.

The clutch I just removed is 3 finger Long style but without the adjusting bolts on the fingers. I was surprised to see that because the truck sat for years in a barn, and the PP has heat cracks and the disc is down to the rivets on both sides, and that happened before it got put away.

I need to look through my notes. Please bear with me.

I found a place through advice here on the barn that rebuilds them. I'd had a few done. Quick, quite reasonable and great workmanship. Kinda like Ft. Wayne used to be.

Found it!

These folks were great!
They rebuilt the last one I'd sent and had it back on my porch the very same week.

Thank you, Kube.

What a shame. Fort Wayne was the first place most of us went to. Sad, but glad to hear there is someone else out there doing great work.

This guy, "the clutch doctor" in MN rebuilds your parts too, but not sure if he has any cores for sale. Perhaps call him up. Been around for many years, I had him do my 30 Packard disk and pp years ago.

The problem with the above companies is most of my customers don't have a core so rebuilds may be a problem? When I started in the 90's I used Lincoln Clutch And Brake and for years they sold excellent rebuilds but also new ones built by a company in Tenn. When I first started with Fort Wayne they were selling a good product but several years ago that changed as per Kube.

In an actual conversation with Fort Wayne Clutch several years ago. I was informed that the only clutches they supplied for the later flatheads (8BA's, etc.) were Chinese imports (they wouldn't even take my Genuine Ford clutch as a core return). At that time, they were still rebuilding the earlier clutches, although I believe the writing was on the wall. Anyone considering a clutch from them would be well advised to do their homework. As blanket advice, those of you making recommendations for anything they have not had direct experience within the recent past should be careful.

As Bob Dylan said, "The times, they are a changin'".

I would go with whatever Mac VanPelt sells. Never had a problem with anything that I purchased from him. As always JMO

I also support Mac. Quality products and excellent service. Bought two complete clutches from Van Pelt.

I am confident you'll be pleased with them.
These days, I'd be apprehensive to purchase a reproduction clutch kit.
Too much work involved to do it twice.
