Off topic, 31 RR eye candy
Out of my price range but fun just to look at. Compare this to your Model A.

Re: Off topic, 31 RR eye candy
Still had mechanical brakes.
"The servo system is driven from the output shaft of the gearbox to provides braking assistance which is directly proportional to the speed of the car. This assistance supplements the driver’s efforts in applying the rear brakes and provides the only braking effort for the front brakes. It therefore provides an anticipation of modern traction control. i.e. If the rear brakes should lock up during a skid, the servo stalls and automatically releases the front brakes to restore full steering control to the driver. It only reapplies front wheel braking once traction is restored. The servo is equally effective in forward or rearward motion." https://www.rroc.org/files/RR%20Servo%20Tips.pdf |

Re: Off topic, 31 RR eye candy
That RR has no appeal for me. I recently sold a Delage - often referred to as the French Roll Royce. I'm happy to be rid of it. I don't like big cars and it was HUGE. Sure, it was a delight to drive on the open road and was quite capable when it came to stopping with its vacuum assisted 4 wheel brakes but too big. I'll stick to my Model As.

Re: Off topic, 31 RR eye candy
I met a guy who had a 30s chauffeur driven Rolls. The back was all inlaid wood and mother of pearl. It had been in India at one time. He paid $1,000 at an estate sale. It hadn't been listed and his wife drug him along to look at furniture. One other guy bid $100 and the guy I knew countered with a grand just to show the guy he was serious.

Holy Whitworth.. hand made English cars,as if a manufactured English car isn’t bad enough. Used to work on JCB backhoes.. when a customer would ask why the failure was so expensive we would say “ Just Cause it’s British”..

I got to work on and drive one, yes the brakes worked good, but the steering required very strong arms

When we had local vehicle manufacture we had cheap parts.
Jeep got a bad reputation here because when they blow up it costs the same as buying a new car. https://mr4x4.com.au/social-media-bl...a-sales-slump/ |

that car is a head turner. if it sells, Hyman will get top $.
Was at Hershey over 30 yrs ago and fella says to his friend, why are you selling the 1917 Loco? He said Ive sold all my cars except my model A roadster. I cant stop the Loco with its 2 whl brakes and Im now 80 yrs old. The model A works perfectly for me at this point of my life. |
