Urgent Search For Engine
I am still on the hunt for a Model "B" engine so I can get my broken Victoria on the road again. Prefer a running engine, but an under the work bench or barn find will do.
If you have an engine to sell, email me at [email protected] or call me at 631-471-9551.

Re: Urgent Search For Engine
I don't understand why you would not buy a Burtz engine and just bolt on all the parts from your B with the hole in the side.

So let's say I have an spare used (A) engine in my garage. Anyone had any luck leasing an engine to a club member on a month-to-month basis? Say like $50 month? |

Re: Urgent Search For Engine
Thanks all for your replies. I have committed to buy a rebuilt "B" engine from a Ford Barner that is setup to drop into a Model "A". Moreover, I put a friend in search of a "B" engine onto another Ford Barner who also has one for sale.
I appreciate the suggestions to buy a Burtz engine, but the installed cost of a Burtz engine substantially exceeds the cash I have available. In my opinion, the Burtz engine is technically the best option. The idea of cross-decking parts from my broken engine into a Burtz engine to avoid cost sounds good, but may not be doable because of the damage done by the #4 connecting rod. I haven't taken the broken engine apart yet, but I expect to find significant damages to the crankshaft, the camshaft and the cylinder head. I will post the internal damages on the Barn in the future.

Re: Urgent Search For Engine
That's exactly like loaning out your chainsaw. There are people I'd loan things to but not very many. It's amazing how people treat rented items and their friends stuff. I know some treat it very well, maybe better than the owner but overall the chainsaw will come back with a very dull chain at the least.

Re: Urgent Search For Engine
I once worked w/a fellow (Joe), who told me that over the weekend he had borrowed a trailer from a friend and a tire on it blew out. He was upset that the trailer owner insisted that Joe pay for the replacement wheel.
He then told me this was the second time this had happened to him. I suspect that Joe hadn't bothered to check the air pressure in the tires on the borrowed trailers.

Re: Urgent Search For Engine
I had a friend who suggested to the local funeral director that he rent nice looking wood coffins and bury the deceased in a simple inexpensive pine box. How did we get to renting?

Re: Urgent Search For Engine
I loaned my chain saw and NEVER got it back. I loaned it to my sister, it was stolen while in her possession, she just said "sorry".
