Default Wanted axle ends

Hi I need two model A differential housing ends with good balls. Just cut off ones are ok I can clean them up. If any body has a set of trashed axle housings please show me what you have. I just need the ends with the spring and shock mount. Thank you Jim

I assume the OP is referring to the shock link perch ball end on top of the spring hanger perches. A person can purchase the repair perch ball ends from most sources for a few bucks.

Where on the housing did you want the cut to be? Most folks that repair these can repair your housings and send them back or even do an exchange possibly.

Some folks cut the whole spring perch end off saving at least the top two bolt holes so they can be bolted or welded on to later type banjo axle housings. More accurate info would be needed if someone is going to start cutting parts up.

Hi Rotowrench as you mentioned in your third paragraph, I would like to bolt these on a 39 rear so I can use the stock Model a shock and rear spring.

Isn't the width going to be different between the two axles?? What do you do about that??

The later 37 to 41 axles are wide enough that a Model T spring or a Model A spring with reverse eyes can be used but some use other springs. I would be more worried about having only two bolts holding each side spring hanger on. Folks have been playing with stuff like this on the HAMB but I went with spring behind and extended the Model A frame for my AV8 project. This way the hump is closer to the back of the trunk instead of right in the middle and there was no need to step the frame. To each there own. The model A axle housings are still out there.

You can machine or cut out the bottom portion of the A axle ends so that the 4 bolt holes are still intact- make the cut out portion just large enough to slip over the later housing- (kinda like a horseshoe). This way you still have a fully supported spring perch.
