Default Me again on 60HP engine restoration

I hate to be a pest, but I need some more help/leads. In order to be correct I need to have some nuts/bolts/washers cadmium plated. Zinc and aluminum plating are both too shiny.

Is anyone here able to do that or put me in touch with someone who can. There are probably a couple of hands full, all together.

Thanks again, guys.

Lawson

Zinc playing without brightener, or sans the post plating bath in nitric acid is dull Grey. May check with plates about this. Would give a sample if I could ever get set up again. Too many projects higher in priority right now

For a display engine.............this would be the quick solution.
Sand blast them, and then clean them with wax and grease remover, and hit them with 'cad in a can'. That would be dull aluminum in a rattle can.

I have considered that but would really rather do it the way Henry did it. After all, it's going in a museum. While we are on the subject, I have never heard of "cad in a can". Where do you get such a product? It may come in handy some day if I get in a pinch.

Like I said before: That would be dull aluminum in a rattle can.

You may have to do what I did and search the internet for find it. Seems hardware stores are selective with their color choices these days.

Lawson,
Eastwood sells decent spray paint "Cadmium". It mimics the cad appearance but does not duplicate it.
ALL of the fasteners you desire are available with the proper plating.
Call Mike Driskell and be done with it.

Kibe: It may just be me but I have NEVER gotten a response from Mike, no matter how I have tried to contact him. Dunno why, I'm jinxed I reckon.

Did you call? That typically works better than emails.
